Getting there

From Shinjuku Station, it’s 2h30 to Kobuchizawa Station on the Azusa, which runs every 60-90 minutes.

You can take a taxi from Kobuchizawa or transfer to the Koumi Line and walk to the house from Kai Oizumi Station. Local car rental is also available. Driving from the city takes 2 hours in low-traffic times.

Area

Blue House is 1,000m above sea level, which is drier and cooler than the Tokyo area. The area has more blue sky days than anywhere else in Japan.

The house is surrounded by woods and a few neighbors, with no direct views to speak of, but the nearby roads and trails offer 360º views of the Yatsugatake mountain range, dairy farms, rice farms, and frequent photobombing of Mt. Fuji in the far background.

Reach out to an AQ member to discuss your stay, or complete this form, and we'll get back to you with availability and rates.
