PROJECTS
tokyoartbeat.comVIEW LIVE SITE »
AQ has proudly donated design and user experience consulting to Tokyo Art Beat since 2004, helping it organize its comprehensive exhibition and venue information, event reviews and creative job listings for the Tokyo area.
AQ's work has contributed to audience and revenue growth, with the site currently enjoying more than 200,000 visits a month and enough revenue to support four part-time staff members.
Highlights:
- An information architecture that encourages browsing and content discovery for both casual visitors and power-users.
- Permanent event pages that can be saved, recommended to other site users, and printed to a pocket friendly format.
- Geo-location metadata that is used to suggest other nearby events and restaurants to visitors.
- A standards-compliant platform, ensuring accessibility for visitors with disabilities, and optimal visibility on search engines.
Tokyo Art Map
Tokyo Art Map is a bilingual, free printed art guide, published bimonthly by Tokyo Art Beat and distributed at 120 locations throughout Tokyo. AQ worked with TAB to conceive the original design concept, and continues to design each release.
- Instantly recognizable trapezoidal format folds down to reveal the city's art neighborhoods as tabs.
- Concise, tightly-designed listings are accompanied by maps and QR codes, all the info needed to get to any of the fifty events in a format that fits in your back pocket.
- Printed in three custom colors on matte paper.
TAB JobsVIEW LIVE SITE »
TAB Jobs is a bilingual job board for creative and IT professionals in Japan. The board has served the TAB audience and advertisers as a useful addition to TAB's event information, while providing a reliable new revenue stream for the non-profit organization Gadago, which runs TAB.
AQ worked with TAB to establish a clear data model and design that matches what Japanese users expect a job listing to look and read like, while keeping the job entry process as simple as possible for employers.
